CardShows doesn't have user accounts, doesn't sell personal information, and doesn't use advertising or analytics trackers. This page explains the little we do collect.
What we collect
- Show submissions. The show details you enter, plus the organizer contact email if you give one. The email is kept private: it's used to review the listing and contact you about it, and is never shown on the site.
- Your IP address when you submit a show, to limit spam and repeat submissions.
- Clicks on show listings, counted per show to rank “Trending”. These counts aren't tied to you.
- Location you choose to share. A ZIP code you search is sent to our server and looked up with OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. If you tap “Use my location”, your browser's coordinates are sent to our server to find nearby shows. We don't store either. A ZIP search can appear in the page address (for example ?zip=98101); exact coordinates never do.
- Boost purchases. Stripe handles payment and shares with us the amount, the show, and the email and billing details you give at checkout. We never receive your full card number.
- Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
Cookies
We don't set advertising or analytics cookies. Maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap's servers, which see your IP address like any website you load content from.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the site, for that purpose:
- Supabase (database and flyer storage)
- Vercel (hosting)
- Stripe (payments, receipts, and fraud prevention)
- Discord (private notifications so we can review new submissions)
- OpenStreetMap (ZIP lookups and map tiles)
We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect against fraud and abuse.
How long we keep it
Listings and their submission details are kept while the listing is useful and for record keeping after. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, including an organizer email on a listing, by contacting [contact email]. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights; we honor them and won't treat you differently for using them. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
Children
The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
We'll update this page when our practices change; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: [contact email].
